Dick Boyd presents a photographic reminiscence of the birds,
mammals, and people of Kenya. With Kenya located astride
the equator, its varying altitudes and geographical extent spawn
many different climates and habitats, including the snowy rim
of Mt. Kenya, the soda lakes of the Great Rift Valley, the animalrich
plains of the Masai Mara in the south, and rain forest in the
extreme west. Join Dick as he revisits these riches of Kenya via
photographs. Open to the general public.

86 SHOREBIRD SEASONAL ASSEMBLAGE
1:00pm-3:00pm...Morro Bay State Park Marina
Fall and winter bring thousands of shorebirds and waterfowl to
Morro Bay and a great opportunity to observe feeding and flocking
behavior. Take a short walk with State Park Docents Freeman
and Worth Hall to the end of the Marina Point, scope out what’s
going on, and search for the rare migrant. Meet at the east end of
State Park Marina parking lot.

*87 HABITAT SKETCHING –
CABRILLO AREA TRAILS
1:30pm-4:00pm...Community Center
Join State Park Docent Barb Renshaw and Rosemary Flamion for
a “sketch walk” of about two miles with 2 or 3 stops to sketch.
Draw the Morro Bay Estuary, get a closer view of Hollister Peak,
or find the stand of old coast live oaks. If you stay long enough,
look for Short-eared Owls just before sundown. Bring sketch
book, sketching pencils, watercolors or other materials, and water
to drink. No experience necessary. Caravan. Limited
